Hyundai Sonata: Rear Suspension System / Trailing Arm Repair procedures

Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported. |

Remove the wheel cap (A).
Be careful not to damage to the wheel cap (A) when removing the it. |

3. |
Remove the front wheel and tire (A) from front hub.
Tightening torque :
88.3 ~ 107.9 N.m (9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 ~ 79.6 lb-ft)

Be careful not to damage to the hub bolts when removing the front wheel and tire (A). |

Disconnect the wheel speed sensor connector (A). |
5. |
Disconnect the parking cable mounting clip (A), remove the parking cable (B). |
6. |
Loosen the wheel speed sensor cable bracket nut(A), bolt(B) and then separate the cables with the trailing arm.
Tightening torque :
A : 6.8 ~ 10.7 N.m (0.7 ~ 1.1 kgf.m, 5.0 ~ 7.9 lb-ft)
B : 8.8 ~ 13.7 N.m (0.9 ~ 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 ~ 10.1 lb-ft)

Loosen the trailing arm mounting nut (A), and then remove the trailing arm (B).
Tightening torque :
98.1 ~ 117.7 N.m (10.0 ~ 12.0 kgf.m, 72.3 ~ 86.8 lb-ft)

Loosen the mounting bolt and then remove the trailing arm with the frame.
Tightening torque :
98.1 ~ 117.7 N.m (10.0 ~ 12.0 kgf.m, 72.3 ~ 86.8 lb-ft)

Installation is the reverse of removal. |
